The ArtTec Festival happens every two years and unfolds throughout the city of Bogota with talks, interventions, live mapping, exhibitions and workshops. For its third edition, one of the intervened places was The Click Clack Hotel, a spot of intersected architecture, art and design. The theme of the 2019 version of the festival revolved around the conscious connection that can be established between art and technology.
Some of the artworks shown in the Happy Like Exhibition were used to intervene in the shop window at The Click Clack Hotel, with an on-site installation that lasted a little longer than a month. The location of the hotel and the display of the window allowed a larger audience, not specialized in art, to encounter the problematic issues relative to media vigilance and the use of artificial intelligence in digital platforms. The labor of art as a vehicle to denounce and question institutional power structures is fundamental. There is a need to advocate for collaborative initiatives of this nature to continue to occur with frequency.
